Wtf? I will boycott every damn author that do things like this. So not right!

Yeah, she was. That was the only way she could have participated in this scam. I'm pretty sure she got swarmed and ran away crying.

There's a funny side part to this: Maggie Spence even to the end of that thread is saying "oh who cares, so I got bad reviews and one stars, so what, I'm still selling".

But her only other thread on KDP forums is "Why do Bookbub keep rejecting me" from about a month ago. Bookbub is a paid ad service that sends out a daily email with free and bargain books, and they have a really big reach, it's like the holy grail of book advertising, and you often see authors saying they sold 25k copies, or hit number one in their categories on the day of a bookbub ad. And Bookbub has requirements: Quality requirements, like a decent cover (hers is pretty bad) and.... if you don't have a certain amount of reviews, and an average rating over 4 stars, they'll pretty much never take you.

There's exceptions of course, authors with a big backlist and a track record sometimes can get a BookBub spot without the reviews, but an author with a single book, pretty much never.

So what indeed, she's sunk her own ship :)

I have an author friend who worked his ass off and was finally able to get a Bookbub special out there. He was so excited and his friends, including myself, celebrated with him. To see people doing things like this, rather than focus on improving their writing...it just makes me sick.

Nine times so far, Bookbub has rejected her nine times and counting.

Why would they reject her 9 times for submitting the same thing that didn't meet their submission criteria the first time? They must have bully in their evil hearts.

Maggie wondered who she pissed off. I thought at first that was a dumb reaction, why would it be about her, why not about the book? But as our acquaintance grew I could see that it could possibly be about Maggie and not her middling book.

Gregor, LMAO!

Spare Ammo, that's too bad. I know that the egos of authors can often be overblown, but geez, after the third or fourth rejection, wouldn't you start to wonder if it was you? And not the bullies, or other, mean authors, or.....

BookBub wants to actually have people BUY THE BOOKS because they get a cut. If it doesn't look like it is something that people will want to BUY they have no reason to promote it. Her book, regardless of what was inside quality-wise, did not have a cover or blurb that immediately fit into a recognizable genre.

There were a lot of amazing authors trying very hard to give her some good advice that she stomped on and insulted. She went back and edited and/or deleted her most outrageous remarks - that seems to be how she posts, attack then delete.

She also was dumb enough to start a thread at the end of March rejoicing in her first review from a stranger. All her other reviews on Amazon are from her family and friends but they don't tell you that. She's not the brightest bulb.

That's usually the outcome. Well...first they tend to label everyone as bullies and then they run off crying. Same difference.

Yeah. Public outcry = Bullying
