I struggle with Sheila Connolly's stuff. She writes characters I have a really hard time caring about. I read this series, but I don't think it's one I'd ever recommend to anyone and I've had to quite her orchard series entirely.

I may give this up then. But the idea and setting! It's perfect for me but this book is as dry as people think history is. Argh.

Have you ever read Rosemary Harris? Her Paula Holliday cosies have the most vivid characters.

I don't think so. I'll have to check her out. As much as I love the setting of this, if I begin to not care about history...it's a bad sign.

I do like the cover. The book was well made and well put together...it just seemed incapable of making me actually care. And believe me, I can care very easily about museum work.
