Sadly, I think your time would be better spent. I would be interested to see what others think of it though.

I really don't get why people rewrite other books like this. I can see telling a new story that's a sort of continued adventures thing. But if you're going to reframe the entire situation shouldn't you just write your own? I mean, if the story's good enough I wouldn't mean hearing about the 3rd cousin who lived down the road - it doesn't have to be the main characters.

I am so liking the Knights Who Say Meh. I say that whenever I see them, but I feel I must.

I don't mind the rewritings as good ones give me a different look at characters I thought I knew. I've seen Mr. Bennett, Elizabeth, even Mrs. Bennett in different lights. It's not that they were written out of character, it was that IN character they reacted to different events and I was able to think about their thoughts, feelings, and reasons for acting they ways they do. But none have ever come close to rivaling P&P. Some also deal with the society and history that surround Austen's tale but aren't mentioned. Another reason I like them. I will admit, I prefer the sequels.

I love that shelf name too! I wish I could find the person who first did it and let me use it. It does express so well how I feel at times.
