aaannnddd another one gets added to the list. :)

Have you read Bryson's "At Home"? It sounds like the same premise and I'm wondering how the two compare...
I'd say sorry...but I think you'll really like this one.

Bill Bryson? No I haven't. After reading him for a class in college (one of only two books I could not complete for a course), I've stayed away from him. I don't know if it's me, his writing style, or both but his books and I don't get on. I might have to attempt this one though, as this type of historical study has always fascinated me. There's The Making of Home by Judith Flanders that looks to be somewhat similar. It's on my TBR list as well.

I think the Flanders one might be in my TBR pile... there are at least three of hers in there. This is why I'm a little freaked out - I can't remember which ones!! :P
She's written some good ones. I've got (though not read) The Invention of Murder (probably one you have) and I want her In a Victorian home (or something like that). And of course that one.
Judith Flanders' Inside the Victorian Home is excellent. (No idea if this is the same as Making of Home or not.)

I have her Invention of Murder, and someday I shall get to it.
I have basically every Flanders' book on TBR list. I need to just tell all the books no and binge read all of hers.
I can see why! I'm putting it on hold (the book version) from the library. As much as I like the narrator (and I do), I'm not getting out of it what I know I should.
