Like you, I missed out on Shea's work for ages. I didn't see any of my friends recommending him so I must have figured he wasn't very good. That all changed when I read The Jersey Devil on a whim (cryptozoology, how could I resist?!). I followed that shortly after with Loch Ness Revenge (again....). His writing might not be up to the highest standards of the big name guys but man can Shea spin a fun tale. Definitely need to read more of his stuff, you and me both.
