As a King fanatic "Needful Things" falls somewhere about halfway between the one I liked least and my favourite of his. Nice review and spot on in my opinion :)

Thanks. I was going to give it three and a half stars but the end pushed it up to four. Probably the best King books I have read so far were Misery and The Green Mile. I also enjoyed Duma Key and Pet Sematary but I found the endings went a bit too silly.

I would probably say the end deserved that extra half a star. Misery is fantastic, I read The Green Mile as it came out in serial form - drove me mad at the time but now looking back I realise it did enhance the reading experience! I'm a fan of Duma Key (you are right re the end though) but my favourite King book will always (up to now anyway) be The Stand. And I have a random love of Bag of Bones. :)

I haven't read The Stand but I have it to read. It sounds like my kind of book. I haven't read Bag of Bones but I think I saw the two-part movie. Was that with Pearce Brosnan? It started off okay then got really weird. I can't wait to read It as well. I've been holding off because it is so fat and I need to read 34 books this year. If I hit my quota, I will treat myself with another fat book. Haha!

Oh my word that Pierce Brosnan so called "adaptation" was truly TERRIBLE! The book is a ghost story and a love story and has little to no resemblance to that blinking thing. Sorry rant over :D The novel "Bag of Bones" is wonderful. Yes The Stand takes patience and a certain comittment but is definitely worth the effort. I love a fat book, but I'm with you - I try and keep them to towards the end of my reading year (although I DID read "I Am Pilgrim" a while back and that one is huge) Good luck with the quota :)

Haha! Thanks. I did see 'Bag of Bones' in an op shop today for $3 and I didn't get it because of that movie. You may have changed my mind now. lol Although, I did pick up another 8 books while I was there. That's 15 this week. I'm out of control!!! :)
