Excellent rant at the end about how diversity is not a laundry list. Such laziness can be just as bad as not including them at all. Really portraying diversity requires understanding how people different from you think and work while also treating them as fellow human beings with relatable emotional reactions to things. Perhaps we'd all like to believe that challenging society's prejudices can be as easy as this author seems to think it is, but the fact is that it simply isn't.

Thanks for the detailed review, as always.
Fantastic and very comprehensive review! I was just checking this book out the other day, I think there's a giveaway for it up on Goodreads, but the blurb they had up was really vague so I passed. Now I'm super glad I did.
