I agree whole-heartedly. I find I read a lot more and better through these games, review more, chat more with other members :D
Can I just say "yes" and "me, too" to all of the above? Great post!

Lovely post! I agree with everything here. Might I also add, one thing that is exciting me this year, is waiting on the next square to be called? lol I know we're allowed to read for whatever square we want, but the anticipation of, "which square will be called tomorrow" is somehow heightening my excitement!

And also, this challenge allows me to break out of my comfort zone for two months and read books I wouldn't normally pick up under typical circumstances!
I'll just add those points to the post if you don't mind?

Great list, and I agree completely!
Since it seems everyone is doing the halloween bingo, I feel like I should say why I don't do Halloween Bingo...it's really because I don't like scary books, I get to freaked out and I can't sleep, and I have to work early in the morning, and well if there is one thing I like just as much as reading, it's going to have to be sleeping. But those cards are super cute!!! They make wish I could handle scary books better.

Leah - a lot of us can't handle the scary books; I'm probably the biggest wuss of them all (or top 3 anyway), but Moonlight Reader designed this bingo to be setup so everyone can read something in their comfort zones - in other words, there's a wide field of interpretation. :D Keep that in mind and maybe we can convince you to join next year? :)

What MbD said, though we might have to (all top 3... or 5? of us?) fight for the top weenie of them all. lol I am a total wuss when it comes to horror or scary stuff, so I specifically chose to leave out a lot of the horror squares, although that required some compromise with other squares.

I'm more drawn to mystery, so most of my card are mystery squares. Even last year when we did Halloween Bingo, I managed to find a way out of reading too many scary books since the squares were very open to interpretation. I think the scariest book I read was 'The Haunting of Hill House', and that book was more unnerving than scary, even if brilliantly so.

But I read things like 'A Curious Beginning' or 'Truly, Madly' or 'The Girl Who Chased the Moon', which are more light-hearted and fun.

As MbD said, maybe we can convince you to join next year?
That's a good reason! I had suggested doing something similar with a Christmas/midwinter holiday theme.

All of what you said (although ok, I don't have an inner goth - but I love pumpkin carving!).

Great post!
