I am such a fangirl over her videos! (And I gave in and gave myself one of her books today!)
Which one did you get?

I have the Pompei one. But Beard is head editor of this whole series.
I read her Fires of Vesuvius: Pompeii Lost and Found; it was excellent.

I got this one:
Classical Art: From Greece to Rome (Oxford History of Art)
by: John Henderson (author) Mary Beard (author)
I really enjoyed her Stanford talk here:

Skip the 7min intro if you get bored (of the man who introduces her). It really made me remember what I loved about art history lectures - having slides of the art and then specific discussions and comparisons. So the contents of Classical Art was what I went with. (I REALLY want the Pompeii one, but one book at a time! I say as I ignore my totteringly huge TBR pile!)
