Peer pressure is a terrible thing, Cat’s Cradle is highly rated by people I respect, especially my GR friends, I went into it with much enthusiasm, half hoping for one of those “all-time greats” reads. However, life is full of surprises, and not in a good way on this occasion. It is easy to dismiss ...

I wouldn't say I was a Vonnegut connoisseur, having only read this and Slaughterhouse: Five as well as some political writing, but this is definitely my favorite of his.

I know I'm going to rate a book highly when I highlight/note the book heavily. That was definitely true of this book. While researching for his book, he spends a lot of time learning about Felix Hoenikker, the bomb's co-creator. When he travels to the island of San Lorenzo for w...

After I had first read this book I took it to the pastor of the Baptist church that I was attending and leant it to him. A week later he brought it back and told me that it was utter heresy (but then again anything that wasn't in the Bible was heresy to him) and the only reason that it was not used ...

To accurately describe or review Cat's Cradle without spoilers is a tough prospect. Should I mention that the story is inevitably driving towards one thing? It's blatantly evident from very early in the book, and I believe it was meant to be, and my copy mentioned it in the blurb. Does that make it ...
