I really liked Gabe but then again I've liked all the Hartes and Madisons especially the grandfathers, Sullivan and Mitchell. I must admit that the generalizations of “like a Madison” and “like a Harte” were overdone and got rather tedious. I did like the "shoot and damn" cursing Mitchell did thoug...

This truly is an updated and charming version of the Hatfields and McCoys, except they're the Hartes and the Madisons. Two likeable protagonists that you are happy to root for and an intriguing little mystery to solve along the way. Toes-in-the-sand kinda fun reading.
