This opens up with the renovation of the old hotel. One of Manfred's client dies, in front of him, and he is accused of jewelry theft. Olivia, also in Dallas at the same time, gets enlisted by the Rev to fix it. Told in alternating points of view, this one mainly has Olivia and Manfred, with a littl...

Enjoyed this one much more than the first. With all of the world building out of the way, this one was able to move a bit (just a bit) more swiftly than the first in the series. I'm going to have to order the 3rd soon, because I can use it on any one of about five or six squares on my bingo card!

Okay, I'm officially loving this series. There's an overlay with the Sookie and Harper Connelly books which I loved. Also I love the perspective of all of the different characters and learning some of their secrets. I can't wait until the next book comes out! I would recommend this series.

Day Shift by Charlaine Harris is a paranormal book that is entertaining. I gave it four stars because it was fast moving, the characters were well developed & it kept my attention. While it was an entertaining book, it is the second in this series. I would suggest reading Midnight Crossroad firs...

I'll give this a four, even though it might not deserve it on a scale of all the books ever written. It is, however, worthy of four out of five within it's genre (at least in my book) so there you go. I enjoy Harris' characters and the atmosphere of her books (maybe barring the Aurora Teagarden book...

Welcome to Midnight, Texas, a town with many boarded-up windows and few full-time inhabitants, located at the crossing of Witch Light Road and Davy Road. It’s a pretty standard died-up western town. Stop at the one traffic light, and everything looks normal. Stay awhile, and learn the truth… Fun boo...

A fan of Sookie Stackhouse, I squealed to see a new series from Ms. Harris. I missed the first book in this series and figured I could dive into the second one as a standalone. That could have been a mistake. This series did nothing for me. I couldn't figure out who exactly was the main characte...

This is my first time reading Charlaine Harris' work. I heard great things about her Sookie Stackhouse series, but unfortunately I never had the chance to read it. When I found out she had a new series I was keen to give it a try as such I was glad to receive an advanced reader's copy through Pengui...
