Eager is the first to admit that he modeled himself on E. Nesbit, and it shows. Like Nesbit, Eager creates child characters who are quite real (not simpering goody-two-shoeses) and sets up magic adventures in which the wishes granted never quite work out the way they were planned. Raimi and I like this one 2nd best, after Half Magic. 3rd is Magic by the Lake, and Knight's Castle was 4th.
