I'm actually really surprised by my rating for this one. I enjoyed it quite a bit, despite - or possibly because of - Mencheres being one of my least favorite characters from the NH series. I didn't really cut him any slack here; hot sex or no, I wanted a decent story...and there WAS hot sex. My goo...
“Just because some of us make a mistake in love once doesn't mean we're doomed to repeat it.”The last time Mencheres loved a woman it led to a war between vampires and almost killed everyone else he held dear. After her death he is finally free after over a thousand years of a marriage in name only...
Reread on May 12th 2013. Read again on May 17th 2012. I needed a Vlad fix. I also changed the rating from 3 stars to 4. I wasn't crazy about this book on my first read, but I found it a lot better than I remembered when I read it again. Jeaniene Frost is a really fun author.
I really liked Kira and I love that Mencheres' future vision loss was really temporary and a play on Kira's name (it means "dark"). I'd wondered why his visions had stopped and that reason made sense. The fates where playing with him!
Feb 2013. Ok this just reaffirmed my love of frost even more. I forgot how different and dynamic she can make a group of people in a world. Her talent is amazing because I love all of these characters and no matter how many times I retread these books they get betterAug 2012Oh yes yes yes, Gotta say...
I liked Mencheres and this was a nice chance to get to know him better. Most things were pretty predictable and Mencheres wasn't a surprise since I had already made up my mind about who he was to me, but I really liked Kira. She had a bite and she wasn't a pushover. They were good together and even ...
I have to say that I love the Night Huntress series (at least up until a certain point) but I really LOVED this book. The reasons it is one of my favorites:1) Mencheres. Mencheres in the Night Huntress seems very uptight and closed off but in this book we see another side of him! He is adventurous, p...
I always pictured Mencheres much older than he was. Human age that is :). I guess I felt him described more older. So I was curious how his story would turn out. I liked it. He made a great hero. It was nice to get a look into his past and what makes him tick. Older than dirt indeed :)
This review won't be long. If you have read and enjoyed previous Jeaniene Frost books, I see no reason you won't like this one.The heroine has a great, wry sense of humor. She is down to earth (well, as down to earth as you can expect a vampire to be) and practical. She is not TSTL (well, too stu...
Ms. Frost’s Night Huntress series is one that I have followed from the start, so when she decided to expand that world and give some of her more memorable secondary characters their own books I was thrilled at the idea. Her second “world” book, Eternal Kiss of Darkness, took a closer look at the in...
