Ever since I read Rebecca Zanetti's Consumed (the fourth book in this series) more than a year ago, I've been dying to pick up the backlist. The world-building was so great in that book (and then in book 5, Provoked) that I really wanted to see where it all began before continuing with the series. ...
To be fair, I only made it a quarter of the way through. The prose wasn't engaging, the dialogue was beyond stilted at times, I didn't care for the characters, and seriously, a HAND PRINT mark? 4.5 starsI loved this book!There were some small things that irked me just a bit but overall I loved this book!The characters were rational & apart from one tiny incident, not overcome by their emotions.Looking forward to the next one.
