For 17-year-old Rhine Ellery, a daring escape from a suffocating polygamous marriage is only the beginning...Running away brings Rhine and Gabriel right into a trap, in the form of a twisted carnival whose ringmistress keeps watch over a menagerie of girls. Just as Rhine uncovers what plans await her, her fortune turns again. With Gabriel at her side, Rhine travels through an environment as grim as the one she left a year ago - surroundings that mirror her own feelings of fear and hopelessness. The two are determined to get to Manhattan, to relative safety with Rhine's twin brother, Rowan. But the road there is long and perilous - and in a world where young women only live to age twenty and young men die at twenty-five, time is precious. Worse still, they can't seem to elude Rhine's father-in-law, Vaughn, who is determined to bring Rhine back to the mansion...by any means necessary. In the sequel to Lauren DeStefano's harrowing Wither, Rhine must decide if freedom is worth the price - now that she has more to lose than ever.

I really love this series, unique with fabulous world building and strong characters. I didn't love this one as much as the first, though I cannot wait to read Sever. The horrors that Rhine and Gabriel have to face only make them stronger & the story behind Lilac is sweet. With Vaughn always one ste...
Okay so I read Wither for a challenge on goodreads in the beginning ofJune, lucky for me they had all 3 of the series. I read though the first book in about 12hrs so I really wanted to get though the series. Sadly life had other plans, so I had to take all my books back to the library before I left ...
Can I just say how much I hate this cover. The colours are awful and then there's the model in that very weird and unattractive pose. I can't think of a reason why anyone would choose a cover like that... The book wasn't so good either. We've now left the 'safety' of the house to travel the countr...
How does everyone like this one? (Those of you who read it.) Three stars, four stars? I'm pleasantly surprised by this series so far. I didn't expect to love it, because of some of the reviews I read, but I really, really enjoy it. Full review to come.
