First Rider's Call by Kristen Britain is the second book in the Green Rider series. Karigan G'ladheon refuses to heed the Green Rider's Call. She has went back home in hopes of having a normal life, but things aren't always so easy.I really loved Karigan in the first book, but for some reason I coul...

Started slow, but got much more compelling once characters started telling each other about the plotlines they were in. The series continues to be rather like a somewhat grittier and more desaturated Valdemar, with all the pros and cons that entails, and in some moods that's just what one wants.

I want to like this series much more than I do, but the comparisons the Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar books are too strong to ignore. That and it's trope upon trope upon trope. The chosen one who is remarkably good at nearly everything she does, and always seems to be the only one in the right place a...

A really good follow up to Green Rider. The overarching plot for the series becomes clearer in this instalment. It's written, as Green Rider was, in third-person omniscient, which makes it feel very broad-sweeping and grand in scale. I like the way we sort of zoom in like a telephoto lens on differen...

Although I have always been a big fan of all different hues, I've preferred the color green over all the others for quite a while. I even preferred Luigi over Mario in "Super Mario Bros.", because Luigi wore my favorite color. DC Comics' Green Lantern's unique superpower is made even cooler becaus...

This is quickly turning into a favorite series. Sometimes I get very emotionally invested in the characters I read about. Parts of this book near the end had me tearing up. I can't wait to read happens in the next one!

My thoughts:This is then book 2 and a little time has gone by since the events in book 1. Karigan felt the need to come back to the capital and become a real Green Rider and that is what she is now. And of course even if the danger was averted in book 1 there is still the danger of the wall that now...

The is a sequel to "The Green Rider," which I read shortly after it came out. It was good enough that I bothered to pick up the sequel - but not so good that I really went out of my way to find it."First Rider's Call" continues with more of the same. It's fantasy for those who like long stories with...
