I honesty think this is Harris' best book. I truly do.To talk to much about the plot is to give away a bit too many spoilers, and part of the joy of the book is the mystery so, let's not do that. What I love, besides the mystery, is the look at class, gender, and blind love that we can't fully ratio...

All through this book I really hated the psychotic villain and seriously intended to give the book 2 stars (and that only for the impeccable writing style). The finale altered it all. So brilliant that it's impossible not to admire it. The villain is still twisted and maniacal, but the book is great....

In a word: compelling. So much so that I neglected several Very Important Things I was to be doing with regards to my graduate school work. a real page-turner. At one point, I was totally surprised and then over the next couple days I kept thinking, "Oh, right! So *that's* why that happened the way it did." It made me rethink the whole book. Harris is an amazingly versatile writer. I can't wait to read her other books.

This is a nifty little thriller about the child of an English school's maintenance man who decides to destroy the school. It has humor, class conflict, English snobbery and all sorts of good stuff. I listened to the audio version from Audible.com and the reader was excellent. Highly recommended.

Arguably Joanna Harris’s best novel. She gives us a very compelling story that - while not being a true mystery novel - has enough twists to make any mystery genre lover very happy. You can read my full review here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2015/02/24/best-served-cold/

I thought this book was superb. Although I figured out the "twist in the tail of the tale" very early on, I really enjoyed it. There were so many reflections of my own school life in the book, that empathy was easy for me.The reason that I don't give it five stars is that I found that the pace dragg...
