Graeme Harper is Professor and Dean of The Honors College at Oakland University, Michigan, Director of the Center for Undergraduate Research Leadership, and Chair of ICCWR International Center for Creative Writing.He has held posts in the United Kingdom, USA and Australia, and is today an Honorary Professor in the United Kingdom. His critical works about Creative Writing (as Graeme Harper) include "On Creative Writing", among other works, along with such edited books as "The Creative Writing Guidebook" and "Teaching Creative Writing", "Research Methods in Creative Writing", with Jeri Kroll and "Key Issues in Creative Writing", with Dianne Donnelly, "The Companion to Creative Writing", "Making Up: Research in Creative Writing", and "New Ideas in the Writing Arts".As Brooke Biaz, his works of fiction include "Camera Phone", "Moon Dance" and "Small Maps of the World". "The Invention of Dying" will appear later in 2013. He has won the Australian National Council Award for New Fiction and, most recently,grants and awards from the College of Physicians of Philadelphia and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.He also writes about cultural history, medicine, film and about digital media, about creativity and about the creative industries, about practice-led research in the arts. Holding doctorates from the University of East Anglia and the University of Technology, Sydney, he is Editor-in-Chief of the journal "New Writing: the International Journal for the Practice and Theory of Creative Writing, and co-editor of a number of other journals.
