I much prefer stand alone books, mostly because I have a short attention span and I get tired of the characters and the scenarios usually after book one, although sometimes I'll go crazy and read book two haha! I just finished This Is Not A Test and I was soooo disappointed! It got rave reviews, seemed so popular and sounded amazing but boy was it dull! And pointless. For a character driven novel the characters sure were weak and incredibly two dimensional. Not what I was expecting at all! more »
There's a lot of Stephen King books I don't like. I can't be bothered with them, there's altogether too much seemingly pointless description and too much wandering around looking at the sky, but The Shining is one of the better ones.
