Andrea's harsh past is resurfacing in her sleep, dreams or nightmares. Andrea's neighbor knocks early asking her help as Darin was missing from taking their dog out and Andrea notices the white residue on the walls. Andrea's day starts with magical creatures creating havoc at home and on the stree...
4-4½♥'s... it was difficult getting used to Andrea in the beginning (I'm so used to kate.)By the middle, I was eagerly reading and chuckling at all the quips... My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, Lord of the Rings... funny stuff. LOVED Roman in this book. Half the quotes I highlighted were from...
The book was great. I'm coming to the opinion that IA can't write something less. The reason it has 4 stars instead of 5 is because I liked Kate's books more and somehow it's got to show.Andrea is a completely different person from Kate. Unlike other series it isn't like reading about the same perso...
I read a few of the reviews that talked about an easy capitulation which stopped them from enjoying the book. Not me, I thought it had the right amount of suffering and angst and the capitulation timing was perfect. Very good book! *****
Gunmetal Magic is an amazing beginning to what is sure to be a fantastic spin-off series from Ilona Andrews. But, then again, I expected nothing less. While I suspect I've been reading too much of Ilona Andrews and too little of it that actually features Kate as a protagonist lately, I was still mor...
Finally.Everybody knows how much I love Kate Daniels & company. So much that I can't even say for certain to how many people I have recommended these books to. So, naturally, I was very curious about this spin-off series - Kate Daniels World. The book features Andrea and Raphael's relationship and I...
I don't really have much to say about this one. It was confusing reading Magic Gifts right after reading Gunmetal Magic since the main book is in Andrea's POV and the short story is in Kate's. They overlap a little, which amused me for some reason!
It's Andrea, bitch!I have to admit, I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy Andrea's POV; I thought I would miss Kate more, but it turns out that Andrea's just as much of a badass as Kate, just with different weapons selection.Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for her ex, Raphael. He is no Curran....
It was nice to get a look at Andrea's past and see things from her POV. I think it might have been a good idea to not use the same child in peril ploy in both the main story and the novella. I'm also not a fan of the crazy jealous/possessive = love trope.
I'll be honest, Andrea's- the new protagonist in the series- voice wasn't as smooth of reading for me as Kate's. Other then that everything was fantastic as usual.
