2.5 starsOverall, an interesting tale in the world of Kate Daniels, with the viewpoint shifting to that of Andrea Nash, Kate's best friend. It is wonderful to see familiar characters from a new perspective. Kate, obviously. But Jim and Derek, Curran and Doolittle. Aunt B, Ascanio and Julie. It is nic...
I really looked forward to reading Gunmetal Magic because Ilona Andrews is an author I have on my auto-buy list. I never really felt one way or another for the characters of Andrea or Raphael, but I figured I'd come to like them through this story. However, I walked away finding Andrea and Raphael's...
Don't be ridiculous. Of course I enjoyed this book. It's set in the world of Kate Daniels, my favorite urban fantasy series ever. Magic has returned to the world, coming and going in 'waves:' when magic is up, technology fails, and vice-versa (except telephones--they're unpredictible at any time). ...
Before I go all "balls to the wall" on this review let me explain something really quick. This is my first introduction to the world of Ms. Andrea Nash. Keep that in mind now.Moving on.Gunmetal Magic was the kind of book that hit the ground running, right through a brick wall. I get tired after a d...
After Andrea Nash was kicked out from the Order and breaking up with her boyfriend, she’s trying to find new direction in her life. Then several shapeshifters die and it’s her job to find who is responsible. To make matters more difficult she must work with her former lover whose workmen were killed...
I knew Andrea had a bad past, but reading it in a bit more detail emphasized how bad it was. We're finally told what happened to her after the last battle when the Order took her away and why she couldn't contact Raphael. Roman was great and I hope he shows up in more books along with Ascanio. I did...
Very good. I LOVE Kate and Curran but Andrea was a good alternate. This book had some funny parts and some seriousness but nothing too heavy. Overall a good book.
You know what? I get why I was supposed to like this book. The heroine is smart and occasionally funny. It's urban fantasy. The romance isn't overdone--although I'm getting super tired of the ultra-alpha protective jealous tall dark type. I really love Kelley Armstrong. But I struggled to like this ...
Great writing as usual. Story line held my interest well enough, but the Andrea/Raphael development wasn't as captivating as Kate/Curran. Also, at times, Andrea sounded a little too much like Kate. Granted, they are supposed to be best friends and eventually a little bit rubs off on one another. ...
