Hamlet is the reason why I love Shakespeare so much. Hamlet can be political, religious, humanist and more all at once, which makes it such a compelling read. One could say the play thrives in ambiguity. Was Hamlet really mad or was it just an act? Was there really a ghost of King Hamlet? If there w...

Amazing brevity which makes it all the more tragic. Why was I not moved? I don't quite know. Reading hamlet is a bit like listening to beeth's fifth. Their greatness has turned them cliche, and it mars my appreciation. I really hope to see this on stage one day though.

The Illustrated Stratford Shakespeare. All 37 Plays, All 160 Sonnets and Poems has been standing on my bookshelves I think for over 30 years. Unread, that is. I also have all these plays as e-book... Unread of course. Because I don't like to own unread books (certainly not this long), I now deci...

Someday I'll sit down and quote all my favorite bits and blab on about why it all seems as relevant in today's world as when dear ol' Willy wrote it but for now, I'll just say; I'm glad I've read this. And its made a difference to my day and my outlook on a couple of things.
