This story grabbed my attention right from the start. I enjoyed all the main characters, the heart-tugging heroine, the care-taking hero, and the empathic dog although I guessed who the bad guy was pretty early. Jessie is new in town trying to put her attack behind her when Ian asks her to dance.

Story - good. Series is getting more and more convoluted. First there were 5 men and a wizard - Pendaar. Then there were 5 men, Pendaar, and an owl. Later there were 5 men, Pendaar, an owl, a wolf... and was one of those 5 men possessing powers himself?? Then there were 5 men, Pendaar, an owl....
