Fifteen-year-old Xander King is very unhappy when his father takes him and his siblings out of school in the city and moves them to an old house in the back of beyond. However, the house turns out to have mysterious properties like rooms that lead to other times and places. This sounded like an inte...

Is it just me, or does it seem like Robert Liparulo had read House of Leaves very shortly before writing House of Dark Shadows? I kept getting reminded of House of Leaves throughout. Def. a book meant for pre-teens. It was really well written. I thought some of the story line was inappropriate for kids that young, though.

A young adult book, for maybe 10-15 years old. Some violence no sex/romance. It was a treat i was intrigued in the mystery of this house they moved into, hidden in the woods. It's secrets thrilling and sometimes scary. I can see this becoming a very popular series.
