You know those kinds of novels where you just keep reading these almost "normal" narrations, but then you find yourself get gutted (and heart-wrenchingly wounded) time and time again? C. J. Flood's Infinite Sky is exactly like that. Right in the beginning of her pubescent years, Iris is learning how...

I finished this book last night and wow it was amazing. I connected to it on a very personal level, as I went through something similar to what Iris does at the end of the novel and it really brought up a lot of feelings for me, though it made those parts pretty hard for me to get through. I actuall...

This is a very beautifully written book, and I absolutely loved the described relationship between Iris and Sam, but I was never really invested into the other characters and I felt that the last couple chapters hit you over the head with the you should be grieving-ness.

"And all the time the same question flails around my head, like a hawkmoth round a light-bulb: Is it possible to keep loving somebody when they kill someone you love?”C.J. Flood’s debut, Infinite Sky, is a novel that is at once both understated and emotionally devastating; a story that unfolds gradu...

I was expecting Infinite Sky to be a beautiful and captivating read, but unfortunately it didn't live up to those expectations. It was pretty dull. Despite being bored for most of the book, I did get kicked right in the feels towards the end.Full review: http://www.booksofamber.com/2013/01/infinite-...
