4 1/2 stars. I really loved this history.A wonderful trip through the life of two sailors who fell in love in the second world war, and takes place till 2011. This is the second Kaje Harper book that I've read and it hasn't dissapointed me, Full Circle was amazing too.

What a little gem of a story. Spanning over some 70 years, this book is all about love that endures. A fight for respect and recogniton of a relationship that at the beginning would never be accepted until the teary HEA end where Daniel and Jacob come full circle and can marry under today's laws. I ...

I'm not really sure where to begin. This was the kind of story that makes you believe in hope and goodness and the ability of love to truly conquer all.Knowing from the prompt that these two spend their whole life together enabled me to relax and enjoy the story without having to worry about how it...

Thanks Kaje!I probably would not have chosen this book if it hadn't been BOM because the description did sound like quite a bit of the book was an established rel...

Kaje Harper did a great job telling the story of Jacob and Daniel from the day they met in 1942 on a Navy Ship and following them through the next 70 years. The majority of the story covers their wartime romance...

I hate/love these kind of endings. So bittersweet. It reminds you of the fragility of a human life, that there is no true "Happily Ever After" and that for every single character you read about, there is still only death waiting for them at the end of the road. Rather depressing isn't it?

I was not so fond of the descriptions from their daily life when in their 7nth and 8th decade, but that was only 10-20 pages near the end. Loved the rest of the book!

This is a fairytale in black and white. It reminded me of those old '40s movies, where a single kiss meant everything, where what mattered most were the emotions and the commitment to one another. The book is not without flaw. But it's so beautiful and touching and well-delivered, it was easy for me ...
