So I picked up a bunch of Batman freebies. I'm not a huge Bats fan. I really only read him when Catwoman shows up because she's awesome. So - DCeased is basically the DC universe vs. zombies. It's an interesting idea but I didn't find it particularly "must know what happened next". The Bat...

This comic collection, reissued and amended, tells us about Wesley, leading a humdrum and unhappy existence, until he is taken into hand by the Fraternity and trained to be a killer supervillain. Adapted and changed completely into a film with Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy, the series is nicely pl...

What a convoluted mess of a storyline. Morrison must have been tripping on some magic mushrooms to come up with this event. Not impressed at all, and the "intermission" of the crisis to go into two Superman tie-ins to the Final Crisis was worse than the major plotline. I need science fiction to ma...

The Hiketeia presents Wonder Woman with a seemingly unsolvable problem, at least within her personal context. This is a graphic novel from 2002, but in case you have not read it spoilers follow. A good, self-contained story. I wish there were more Batman in this; it really was all Wonder Woman with a cameo by Batman. I thoroughly enjoyed the panel when Wonder Woman showed Batman that although he is a respected superhero, he still is mortal and she could very much kick his ass. Also really h...

Having never really been a Batman fan, I am really enjoying these comics. I love reading different interpretations of the bat and his villians.I loved the premise of the white knight/angel and I hope to see him out and about again :)

So far, the Before Watchmen series has been hit or miss for me. The volume that stuck out the most to me, was the one that was the most poorly reviewed of all four. I liked this volume too however, and I'm not sure how it stacks up against the Ozymandias volume but it's pretty close. The Comedian an...

I end my series of reviews for the Before Watchmen series on my blog, The Itinerant Librarian. A small excerpt from this review: "Azzarello was certainly the author suited to write these two tales. Both tales deal with dark, gritty individuals. In addition, Bermejo's art catches the urban grit and...
