Jean-Marcel HUMBERT is born in Paris, 1947. He is Doctor in History (Egyptology) of the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne (1975), and Doctor d'Etat ès-Lettres et Sciences humaines, Paris IV-Sorbonne (1987). French national museums (Ministry of Culture) Curator then Director since 1974, he has been Heritage General Curator, and since 2004 French Museums General Inspector before he retired (2010). He has been the Curator of many National and International Exhibitions, among which The Louxor cinema (2013, Paris), Bonaparte and Egypt (2008-2009, Paris and Arras), Dream of Egypt (1998, Paris), Egypt in Paris (1998, Paris), Egyptomania (1994-1995, Paris, Ottawa and Vienna). Historian and Art Historian, he published a great number of books, exhibitions catalogues and more than 200 articles for scientific magazines or general public ones. He is member of the Société française d'égyptologie.He continues his researches, publications and exhibitions curatorship in Egyptology and in the field of History and Art history as an independent researcher.
