Jennifer Lohmann is a Rocky Mountain girl at heart, having grown up in southern Idaho and Salt Lake City. She's always been a reader--of romance novels, mysteries, nonfiction, cereal boxes, etc. If it had words, she tried to read it. Jennifer had been writing, on and off, for many years when she won the Romance Writers of America Librarian of the Year award in 2010. Being at the RWA conference reminded her how much she loved writing and she became more serious about it. As part of Harlequin's "So You Think You Can Write" Contest, she was offered a contract on her first book in 2012. She spends her days surrounded by people, talking about books, and creating community. Her nights (and early mornings) are spent imagining the loves of other people and writing their stories. She lives in the Southeast with a dog, five chickens, and four cats.

3 starsthe characters just didn't click with me, and the plot didn't always hold my attention. Ruby is so convinced of her running abilities, I still don't understand why she let her coach convince her to cheat. Everybody does it doesn't cut it for me, and it shouldn't have cut it for her.

Realistic characters, fascinating story. Didn't 100% love Miles; his flaws were just a little too flawed. But on the flip side, he's very aware of that, and his self-reflection was fascinating (okay, it doesn't sound fascinating, but it was! Not too dwelly, just the right amount of insight). Didn't ...

Again, the food saves the book for me. That and the obvious love of the author for Chicago and Polish cuisine. The heroine is strong, smart, driven, good at what she does. She unfortunately doesn't deserve the hero, who is a douchebag. He kinda redeems himself somewhat but he is still a douchebag and...
