of the 3 stories I only read Bluebird Winter by Linda Howard. It was sweet, short & predictable. A very quick, easy read. Nothing special about this one
Well, this book was pretty average but I rated it higher because the hero was older, 56 or so with grown children we have read about earlier. He lost his wife a few months ago but he lost her long before that. His wife was his childhood sweetheart and then he learnt six years ago that she had been c...
Rating 3.5 starsA very quick read. I read it because I remember reading a book in a series that is loosely connected with this. The hero is a rich cynical man who was once sent to jail because of false accusations and that has made him hard. He is used to getting his own way and he does when the her...
I feel like Derek got cheated out of a full length novel. Though I can't say I disliked Kathleen, I didn't feel the connection to either character I expected to. This definitely isn't a favorite.
Bluebird Winter by Linda Howard is a continuation of a series of stories. In this, Derek has achieved his goal of becoming a doctor. He falls instantly in love with Kathleen as he helps her deliver her daughter, Sara Marisa. Little Risa wins his heart and he works to make them a family as he teaches...
CERTAIN THINGS WILL SET ONE MAN APART FROM ALL OTHERS Justin Grainger lived life by his own rules and they did not include settling down. So while at his brother's wedding, when he met the sexy maid of honor, he had only seduction on his mind. Laying on his notorious charm, he soon had a perfect bed...
Granted that both stories had the typical Big Misunderstanding, serious lack of communication, & arrogant hero/submissive heroine that's so prevalent of 80s romance novels, these 2 stories were overall surprisingly pretty good. This is my 1st book by Joan Hohl & I like how her writing drew me to the...
This started out as a pretty good white-knight/damsel-in-distress type of story. Then about halfway in, that conflict is completely dropped, never to be seen again. The story goes in a couple of different directions and never regains its momentum, ending on a rushed note as if the author had given ...
This actually was a very sweet story and I enjoyed reading this book. Darcy could have been written as more self righteous, but she wasn't. The romance between her and the ghost Jonathan was very sweet. I would recommend this book.
This book could have been a 5-star, but just needed more. I liked the premise of the story, Hawk and Kate. All the parts were there, but at times the story felt like more like an outline rather than the finished product. Still, an enjoyable fast-paced read.
