This book is trippy and really funny. It's a supernatural thriller with so many twists and turns that it's really hard to describe. You should read it yourself.

Juvenile humor was only a feature of this novel, not a bug. There were plenty of bugs, tho. That being said, it was a light-hearted frolic in the woods of shit-narnia, and I felt like getting a tattoo of the Pi symbol on my toe. Strangely enough, I agreed with the idea of the last dead guy that firs...

3.5/5I like this book, but, I also don't like this book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading John Dies at the End. It's odd and darkly humorous with a lot of out there ideas. Every page was entertaining and I had a lot of laughs while reading it. Looking back on it, however, there's something that just bug...

I seriously recommend this book to everyone who loves weird stories, exploding characters, penis jokes and a little bit of science fiction.

"John Dies at the End is like an H.P. Lovecraft tale if Lovecraft were into poop and fart jokes." --FangoriaThrow in penis jokes, and Fangoria's assessment is accurate. Actually, this book's a mash-up of Lovecraft, Dick's [b:A Scanner Darkly|14817|A Scanner Darkly|Philip K. Dick|http://d.gr-assets.c...

The two star rating is because as a novel, I didn't find this a very good book. There are a lot (a lot) of funny moments, amusing characters, and far-out imaginative horror. David Wong is a very clever writer, and he knows how to put together scene for razor-sharp comic effect. But the story felt li...

First abandoned book of 2013!Viscera! Ooze! Gore! The more, the funnier! (I guess?) Author's favorite adjective?: "retarded". I abandoned this one after the fifth instance.

This one didn't do it for me.I didn't find it funny (except the bratwurst part) and I didn't find it scary or gory. Mostly it just felt like David Wong was trying to hard to be funny and scary. I didn't like the characters, who I found were just annoying and stupid. I thought soy sauce was a ridi...
