I have been playing catch-up with books that I read during my house renovation that I just didn't have the energy to post reviews about. When one has plaster and dust all over them you tend to just want to go to bed and put blankets over your head (at least I did). Getting my floors, walls, and ceil...
So "The Summerhouse" series by Jude Deveraux is pretty popular. I have the first and second book in my collection, but I honestly have not read the first two books in a really long time. I just purchased the third book last weekend and thought this would be a good time to revisit the series. I have ...
I can't remember the last time I read a romance novel. They were all I ever used to read. Then I picked up Gone Girl... After that I started reading psychological thrillers and the romance novels fell by the wayside. I thought it would be fun to pick one up after all this time, especially one by a ...
Please note that I gave this book half a star and rounded it up to 1 star for the purpose of this review. So I live blogged this book yesterday on Booklikes. I am so glad that those who followed me got to read along to what a completely messed up romance book this was. I read this for Romance Book Bi...
3 - audiobookFun contemporary take on Pride and Prejudice. I liked the way the story tied in so well with the P & P original story while they were doing the play. I wished it had more build up on the "love" part but for a quick romance it hit the spot.
The girl from Summer Hill by Jude DeverauxStory that is done in parts of a play. Casey is there cooking for the play participants and she's not aware of who really owns the house and oversees one taking a shower on the back porch. She later realizes who he is... and he's the actor that the town hope...
This is kind of funny and silly. It gives life to Pride and Prejudice in a small town called Summer Hill. I loved the opening scene where the hero and heroine are introduced. It's a great hook, but then it kind of gets lost with the multitude of characters and subplots. I've read most of Jude Devera...
My title kinda sums it up: I really don't know what to think about this book. For a romance, it had some interesting world building and I really enjoyed the country created and the different tribes and warring factions and the culture created for each. I liked the first half of the book, the intro...
I had...issues...with Jared. His lying, and other bits of subterfuge, like distracting her by changing the subject whenever he didn't want to discuss it, bugged the hell out of me. And her letting him get away with it didn't sit well either. Beyond that, I'm not entirely comfortable with the super...
I used to be an avid reader of this author until I was blindsided by a trilogy featuring one couple and a dubious HEA rug that was ripped from underneath them in book 2. I stopped. Wouldn't pick up another book. I found this in the new acquisitions shelf at one of the local libraries, picked it up...
