The Christmas He Loved Her by Juliana Stone is a phenomenal story. Ms. Stone has gifted readers with a well-written book and furnished it with an outstanding cast of characters. This is a Christmas story, yes, I read them year round, don't judge. I love the characters in this book. Jake is a lit...

The RITA Awards. The Romance Writers of America (RWA) has a young-adult category for its annual RITA and Golden Heart awards, and this year I decided to read the four finalists. I was curious to see what the RWA honored in romantic YA literature. Disclosure: I haven't read romance novels since I was...

This book was just okay for me. I'm sure young adults would enjoy it and hopefully learn some lessons from it. I liked the characters and the story overall, but it was just a little slow for me. And while the "big secret" was definitely not what I thought it was exactly, it just seemed like it took ...

Super corny, but mostly lighthearted and sweet. Gets a little dark at the climax and wraps up with a tearjerker.

Monroe is sent to her grandmother’s house for a change of scenery, for perhaps her flimsy attitude will change over the summer. Then there’s Nathan, the burden that he carri...

Boys Like You is an enjoyable and pretty quick read. I was able to read it in one sitting. I liked this YA because while there was a lot of teen grief, there wasn't the teen love angst that so many YA novels have today. And it's a stand alone which is also a bonus. Can you tell I'm getting burnt...

I almost gave up on this book. It's pace was slow and heavy with characters thoughts, insecurities and speculation. The heroine's secret was rather predictable. Interaction with her son is why I finished but I skimmed a lot. Rock star Cain is attracted to Maggie the maid.
