Zombies are my least favorite horror sub-genre. Ridiculous as this sounds, I just can’t suspend disbelief with all the biological impossibilities. But this short story was really good in spite of that, mostly for its unusual twist, and for the little flash of post-apocalyptic humor when the protagon...

The main thing I enjoyed about “Breeds” is Keith Blackmore’s muscular writing style. He gets you up close and personal to the action. You feel fully present even when things get bloody, which they often do. Yet there’s nothing gratuitous or exploitative here. There’s just a situation that has conseq...

Books with zombies are a dime a dozen. Some bad. Some better than others. This is one of those better than others. The narrator, R.C. Bray, gives a great performance as the Mountain Man. I'm not your typical horror story reader but I occasionally like a walk on the wild, dark side. Lots of gore and ...

This is a short prequel story to Blackmore's Mountain Man series. I downloaded both the kindle version and the audible audio versions free via amazon. This review focuses more on the audible version, though I did use the Immersion Reading feature which combines both the ebook and audio versions. N...

AudiobookVery good audiobook. R.C. Bray did a wonderful job. It was gripping and realistic. Very unwanted ending [why the girl didn't just stay with the nice guy and give up on the jerks I have no idea(hide spoiler)]. I'm planning on listening to the rest of the series.

Not really a review exactly, more of a, "This is a summary of my review" kind of post. I'm all about the feels when it comes to reading so sometimes I don't even know why I like something, I just know that I do. This is one of those times... I listened to the prequel of this series last year when...
