So bittersweet. We all grow out of things and we all have to adapt to the changes in our life. It was so sweet to see Trixie give a part of herself away for someone else's comfort.
Trixie leaves Knuffle Bunny behind once again. She imagines her beloved stuffy traveling the world, meeting other children. This story struck me the same way as Toy Story 3 -- I am no more ready for Andy and Trixie to grow up than I am my own children!
My guess is that this is not a true story, although it is based on real people and uses photographed backgrounds of real places. I loved it at least as much as the earlier two books. Ronnie thought the ending was sad, which Tosh and I disagreed with: we thought the ending was perfect, and not sad...
Will he ever win a Caldecott????
