Lexile Level: 760L Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder is a classic book that details a girl's life living on the prairie of Kansas during the late 1800s. The book could be introduced to students who are naturally interested in American history and who may want to know what life wa...

For more reviews, check out my blog: Craft-CycleI have never seen the TV adaptation of this book and only had a vague idea of what it was about. In terms of plot, this has more of a continuous storyline than Little House in the Big Woods. It's similar in that there are a lot of detailed descriptions...

I vaguely remember that my older sister had been forced to read it in junior high and had hated the experience. Could it be all that bad a book? Nope, it was actually quite...

Hated the TV series, but there are reasons behind that, so I gave this book a shot. Nope, didn't like it either.

This book is not the one that the TV series was based on, but is the house immediately prior to that house. It depicts the realities of a pioneer family in the 1870's. It is a more satisfying book than the first one, having more of a natural narrative arc and more conflict and peril. Despite tha...
