I'm feeling very mixed about this book. I don't normally read a whole lot of contemporary - and generally for a reason (I find it somewhat boring with similar characters). I liked the storyline of this book but I'm not sure I enjoyed how it was written as letters, may have worked better as a regular...

I absolutely loved this book. It was all kinds of amazing, and I would have liked it to be twice as long, just so I could enjoy it for a while longer. Full review will be up on my blog/vlog channel later. http://booksnotlovers.tumblr.com / http://youtube.com/booksnotlovers. I highly recommend this f...

I loved this book in the beginning. The concept is great and it kept it interesting; but, as the book went on, it was, at times, TOO much teen angst. And I figured out the 'twist' pretty early on. However, I think it was pretty realistic-teens going through what these kids were would really respond ...

I really wanted to like this book but I'm not a huge fan. It started off really slow and was difficult to finish. The writing style is inconsistent. Some of it kind of seems ripped off from Perks of being a wallflower. I couldn't really connect that well to the main character either.

I read this book a while ago, but I couldn’t quite put my thoughts into words yet. It made me sad sometimes, but mostly, I think I was bored a large part of the time. Our main character, Laurel, fluctuates between sounding like a ten-year-old wannabe writer, and a trying-too-hard philosophical analy...

It begins as an assignment for English class: Write a letter to a dead person. Laurel chooses Kurt Cobain because her sister, May, loved him. And he died young, just like May did. Soon, Laurel has a notebook full of letters to people like Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Amelia Earhart, Heath Ledger, an...

This started out slow for me. Actually, I think it stayed slow. The plot wasn’t very eventful, and a lot of the letters consisted more of Laurel’s memories and thoughts, than what was currently happening. Further into the story, I was okay with this.I think my favorite thing about this book is the c...
