You don’t need to love alligators or crocodiles to enjoy this educational children’s book. I found this book fascinating as I loved how the author compared and contrasted these two different reptiles in such a easy, informative way that gives kids this information. There is lots of different infor...

6/22/14 ** This book is essential for any unit on environmental issues and the rain forest. Stewart & Young do an exceptional job presenting the complex scientific information about the interconnections among the various animals (and other living organisms such as fungi) that contribute to the heal...

This is suppose to be a good Common Core title---and while it is very informative---I found it depressing. I just feel like I've always had "pet turtles" and pet stores are usually "overstocked" with turtles---and I feel like it's almost too late if they are already at the store.

Fabulous pictures accompany this story about bats and the dangers that they face. The book did a great job of presenting several different species of bats, and talked about what measures humans are taking in an attempt to try to protect bats from the hazards that we have introduced into their lives...

Pearl (8) was all over this book. She read it cover to cover in one sitting, and was walking around the house for days afterward spouting the more memorable facts. For example, that camels fight by throwing up on each other. This made for some interesting family fights over the next two days... Back...
