Midnight Crystal by Jayne Castle Book 7 of Harmony -- Book 3 (final) of Dreamlight Trilogy For many earthly centuries, a legendary curse has plagued the Winters family, stemming from the tumultuous founding of the Arcane Society. But now, on the futuristic world of Harmony, the curse’s final my...
This is my first time reading one of Jayne Ann Krentz's futuristic novels, written under the pseudonym, Jayne Castle. I don't normally like to start a series in the middle for the very reasons I had some issues with this book, but it was the next one in line in the Arcane Socitey books (which span h...
This is the third in an Arcane Society trilogy that involves the Burning Lamp. Each is written in Jayne Ann Krentz's alternative worlds, the victorian under the Amanda Quick name, contemporary under Jayne Ann Krentz and the futuristic under the Jayne Castle name. All three involve Men from The Win...
Wayne and Marlowes quest with the Burning Lamp, futuristic romance and suspense. Arcane Society. Love the dust bunny =D
I put off reading this due to the author having decided to connect her three pseudonyms with this entry. I dislike being manipulated like that. With that said, it's not really necessary to read the other two parts of the trilogy to understand what is going on.What is more of an issue is how this f...
Another wonderful installment in this series. For someone not familiar with the futuristic world of Harmony (and let me tell you, it’s a little different from the one of St. Helen), this book might represent a little of a challenge at first, what with all the new terms, the history, the psi ruins, w...
3.5 starsThe dust bunnies always tip the scale to more stars :) It was great to see a conclusion to the Dreamlight Trilogy. The stars of the books are always the dust bunnies :) I wasn't as invested in these characters, although it was a good read. The overall storyline was fun, and it was great ...
I love the Arcane Society books but I seem to find that the Jayne Castle books are not my favorites. I can't quite put my finger on why because I love the world of Harmony (especially the dust bunnies - and there's another great one here) but I never connect with the couples from these books the w...
Good solid wrap-up to the Dreamlight Trilogy. I expected a little more suspense involving the lamp, especially given events in the first two books. The focus was more on Guild politics. Overall, a fun read.
I was going to give Midnight Crystal three stars simply because the world building feels so real, I'm taking it for granted. Really enjoyable. Love the dust bunny. Found the characters appealing.
