Mike Coe graduated from Auburn University in 1976 with a Bachelor of Aviation Management and from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in 1984 with a Master of Aeronautical Science. Following his studies, Coe served six years as an Air Force pilot, five years as a corporate pilot, and twenty-one years as a commercial airline pilot for American Airlines, based in Washington D.C.. Nashville, Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles. His flight experience equates to having spent over two years in the air in everything from Piper Cubs to jumbo jets, seaplanes to helicopters. The fictional stories Coe writes are derived from the real-world stories about the world as it is, strange and real, yet full of grace. As individuals, Coe proposed that we are each unique works of art, but within our human experiences -- success, failures, and heartaches -- we are connected by a common thread. It is Coe's goal that each story he writes entertain, evoke emotion, and leave his readers with a message of hope for a better tomorrow. The Flight Trilogy: Flight to Paradise (2010), Flight into Darkness (2011), and Flight to Freedom (2013) are contemporary Christian fiction. Coe's next novel, The Local, is due to be released September 2014.Mike has been married to his high school sweetheart for 36 years and has two grown children.
