Mike Etherington has spent many years visiting the USA as part of his job with a large IT Company. The project that lead to his first book started as he made notes of humourous conversations with the Americans he met as he travelled. The first book, printed as an experiment, sold 5,000 copies immediately and spurred him on to rewrite and reprint. The books have now sold globally and been adopted by Stark Gmbh as part of the English Language Curriculum for German students.The differences in usage between British and American English have become less of a mystery thanks to cheap air travel and wider access to US and British TV shows across the globe. However, the book (now available on Kindle), still provides a great insight into the interesting world of our similar, but different, languages.
