As many novels have done before and will do again, Joshilyn Jackson’s A Grown-Up Kind of Pretty explores familial bonds, the ties that bind and that destroy, and the intricate relationships that evolve from these complex connections. I would rather give this 4.5 stars, but Goodreads won't let me. :-/Great characters. Swiftly-moving plot. Compelling suspense. Southern-spun humor.I loved it. I would love for Joshilyn Jackson to do a sequel and revisit these women.
Fifteen is an unlucky number for Ginny Slocumb. A story about mothers and daughters told from different perspectives. The author captures the voices of the main characters well and makes them human and believable. It’s about family, consequences, and the strength that comes from facing difficult times together. I loved the spirit of these women.

I absolutely loved the dialog, particularly what Mosey said. The narration by the author was superb. Definitely a "feel-good" book. DO read it. No, you must listen to it!!!
