The final volume of this series, and after having read it three or four times now, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. The main arc of the story is over, and while this book is still reasonable strong and still interesting, it felt like it belonged back in the first few volumes. A decent volume, but there was just a lot in this issue that seemed to come out of left field. However, getting the humanization of the Cortlaws and their struggles was well worth it.
A fantastic wrapup to what's been the overarching story since I think volume 2. Teeki finally proves himself to be a truly powerful foe and the fate of pretty much everything hangs in the balance as Muhyo and his team try to finish an ultimate weapon to send him below.
I never thought I'd be this invested in Goryo and Ebisu winning a fight, but I think the epic one they have in this volumes is one of my favorites in the whole series.
