For over a century time travel has remained one of the most enduring categories of science fiction. Authors such as Mark Twain and H. G. Wells established many of the ideas that were subsequently encapsulated in numerous stories that have entertained millions of readers. This anthology bring togethe...

First off Cassandra Campbell did a great job with the narration of this very, very long book with a whole host of characters. Secondly, did I mention this was a very, very long book? At first I thought it was an omnibus because the chapters would end and then start with "Book 2", etc. But nope, this...

Aliens: Recent Encounters is a decent collection of stories, most dealing with the consequences of encounters between humans and aliens [duh]. A wonderful collection of speculative fiction short stories by some of the genre's most talented writers. Not a dull tale in the bunch.

Nancy Kress sets up a fascinating premise in this novel. Aliens, who refer to themselves as Atoners, set up a website and email address for humans to apply to become "Witnesses" to a mysterious crime the Aliens committed against humanity 10,000 years ago. Millions apply, but only 21 are selected, 15...

A title like "Dangerous Women" invites cliché, and this anthology features a fair number of them - particularly the femmes fatales. It could be that the femme fatale just doesn't work for me as a character. Always seen through jaded male eyes, she perhaps has a longer history than is sometimes re...
