4.0 Lovely Reread
This is listed as a Ms. Marple story, but she plays a minimal role and doesn't even appear until the last 30 pages. I really enjoyed the narrator, Jerry Burton. He was wounded during World War II and is recovering. His doctor told him to go rest in a quiet English village where little happens. The...

5.0 The Moving Finger
The moving finger is interesting as it is billed as a Miss Marple novel, and indeed Miss Marple does play a significant role in solving the mystery, but more than two thirds of the story is over before she makes her first appearance. As with all Christie novels, the real star of the novel are the peo...

The small village of Lymstock is being plagued by poison pen letters but when it drives one poor woman to suicide Miss Marple is called in to help. Deftly plotted with a nice romance this ranks up there with The Murder of Roger Ackroyd as my favorite by the author.
