Don't like the writing, don't like the main character - she was annoying me. There's no flow. Altogether disappointing. It was great except it felt very much part of a series with a lot left unresolved. For example Belor and the others were taken prisoner and yet to be found Both Nesbit and Fidelis were undefeated There was a feeling of unfinished business between Keleios and Lothor It felt like I'd jumped in ...

I did not finish Hamiltons debut. It became too confusing with all those different kinds of witches, sorcerers, wizards, phantoms, spells, flashes, visions, fires, dreams, flashbacks, elves and what not. Maybe it gets better later. I am not patient enough.
