The Fine Round Cake is basically a variation of The Gingerbread Boy so no real surprises with the text. But, if you haven't read a picture book illustrated by Andrej Dugin and his wife Olga Dugina - you're missing a real bizarre treat. You can either start with this one or The Brave Little Tailor....
I honestly don't even know what to say about this book. My first instinct is to try to give some clinical description of it, but then I just get all tripped up because how on earth do you describe this thing? And so then I just want to say, 'Omigosh, it's soooo weeeeird!' But, it really deserves ...
So gorgeous. and a good German story.
