Series: Commonwealth Saga #1 It is finally over! Alright, I probably shouldn't sound so relieved when I've already started listening to its sequel, which is even longer. This book is flawed in several ways but I still found it interesting and want to see where we go in the sequel. Basically, t...

Wow!! This book (and I include the continuation novel Judas Unchained) is the kitchen sink of sci-fi ideas and implementation all incorporated in a highly entertaining story. This was the first novel I read from Peter F. Hamilton and he gives you plenty of aliens, a new twist on travel between worlds...

Really long, but addictive. Don't judge this book by the cover, as you'd be disappointed if you chose to read this because of it.

Why did it take so long for everything to get going? I like the characters, I like the subplots, I like the expansive world...but I was waiting on edge for them all to weave together. It didn't happen until the last 100 pages. Granted, now I have a fully fleshed out back story for each and every cha...

Epic. Part mystery, part science fiction, part detective story, and part adventure story, the only word to describe Pandora's Star is epic. Perhaps not in quality as it is in scale, time, and characters. At over a 1,000 pages this is a long book, and one with a whole cast of characters, two pages in...

I quite enjoyed Pandora's Star, and the vast universe Peter F. Hamilton creates. Where many science fiction writers take one significant technological advance and write about how their world would change around that, Hamilton has explored numerous game-changing advances all at once, and tried to see...

This book is fat! That was my first thought upon picking up this book. Still with all the recommendations I have been getting from the good people at Reddit's science fiction books community ("r/Print SF") and other reviews I wanted to give it a go. With a book this long I would end up either rating ...

I must say - it's a first class sci-fi novel. Vastly complex in it's approach to the society of the future, very intruguing in its description of what may happen. A Star Gate novel - only so much better then the TV series/movie could ever be! Plus: aliens that are truly and genuinely ALIEN!
