Pat started working with 5 inch squares as a basis for her quiltmaking in 1993 after attending her first retreat. She was asked to do a program for her guild in 1997 using the 5" squares, which gave her the push to explore new uses and techniques for working with the squares. Her first book, Nickel Quilts, was published in 2001.Pat is currently working on her line of individual patterns, a Block of the Month Quilt, and her fourth book which will feature pieced borders. Her most recent book, Amazing Nickel Quilts, was released on October 1, 2008.

This is one of my favorite books for fat-quarter and scrap-friendly quilt patterns. I've made 2 of the quilts and I love them both. One I made with historical reproductions, another with bright contemporaries, and they both look great. I seriously love this book and would recommend it to any quilter...
